Garhwal Trip Part-3 (BADRINATH-TRIP)

.

I had an idea when in Kedarnath to extend the trip by a few days more. However the Kedarnath trek has been tough and whether to extend the trip and thus expend more energy had to be a collective decision. Hence I shared the idea with my friends and they joined in quite quickly.

So, decided to extend our trip and left towards Badrinath from Gauri kund. We passed through Guptkashi, Ukhimath, Chopta, Gopeshwar, chamoli and in the evening we reached at Joshimath where we were about to stay that night because it’s main point of stopping for visitors.

Way to Joshimath.

Joshimath

It is popular hill station and famous center for pilgrimages. The rivers Alaknanda and Dhauliganga meet at the confluence of Vishno prayag just situated below the town. Badrinath temple is around 40km far from there and Auli is 14km.

after staying one night there we continued our journey, around 11am we reached Badrinath temple after passing zig zag road. We passed through Govindghat (it is situated on the bank of the Alaknanda River. It is the commencement point of the trek to Hemkund Sahib and Valley of flowers).

It is one of the most famous religious town. Badrinath is the most important of the all char chota dhams. The main attraction is Badrinath temple also known as Badrinarayan temple and dedicated to lord Vishnu. After temple Darshan we went to Mana village. It is 4km from Badrinath temple by road. it was mid day by the time we reached there and weather was not in our favor , hardly we have reached there the rain has started so, quickly visited vyas Gufa (cave) The village is on the banks of the River Saraswati. The entire region is surrounded by hills and one can see many small streams nearby as well.

As Rain has started so, we had to return to Joshimath and went to Auli. While we entered Auli,oh my god! Cold, we were freezing hence there was no snowfall that time. Auli is considered among the best skiing destinations in Uttarakhand, Auli bugyal turn into a white sheet during winter.

Auli

There was no snow when were in Auli even though it was as cold as it had snowed. We returned to Gopeshwar to spend the night.

It was the end of the day by the time we reached in Gopeshwar and stayed that night there, that was our last night of trip. Next morning we have returned to our destinations.
