Few
years ago I heard about a temple, that place is situated just few hours drive
from my home town and I was unaware of that place, however I had crossed many
time through that place but never thought about it just felt like other temple-Ashram.Name
of that place was Kainchi Dhaam Ashram.
This ashram is Founded by the famous Maharaj Neem Karoli Baba in 1962 and is very well maintained and kept neat and clean.
It is a placed at On the Nainital - Almora Road, 45 km from Almora, 10 Km from Bhowali and 20 Kms from Nainital is a modern pilgrim centre.
There are hundreds of people visit the Ashramevery day, in season time(April –October). Each year, during the June 15th
there woould have done a Bhandara, it said, more than one lakh people are
fed.
While I heard about the kainchi dhaam ashram, my inner feeling awakened and I decided to visit that mysterious ashram once and soon I viisted there may be in 2012, that time there was no rush there, few peoples visited except disciples of Maharaj (NeemKaroli Baba) now situation has changed, there are many devotees come to ashram with their wish.
Perhaps, I went there too with my unfulfilled desire, there are many temples are made by Maharaj ji, each temple is made for different lord statue like, Radha-Krishna temple ,Hanuman temple etc. His devotees started coming from different places and a chain of bhandaras, kirtans, bhajans started.
There is also a cave beside the temple where Baba Neem Karoli used to spend his time praying.
Kainchi temple is of a special importance in each and every devotee's life. It was here that Ram Dass (Richard Allpert) and other westerners spent a lot of good time with Maharajji like Steve Jobs founder Of Apple company, Mark Zuckerberg founder of Facebook and many more.
I have bought books from temple’s office, contineusly I am reading MIRACLE OF LOVE by RAM DAAS.
KainchiDham is around 320 km far from Delhi via Kathgodam - Bhimtal – Bhowali.
Around 50 km from Kathgodam.Nearest Railways station is Kathgodam and nearst airport is Pantnagar.
Visit Time
Temple is open whole year during winter season it is closed by 5-6 pm otherwise visit evryday.
Where To Stay
However few villagers have budget guest house there but it is not big deal because Bhowali 8 km far from temple so, there are lot of hotel and guest house available any time.
